Lumber volume and coverage calculator
How we calculate
Coverage = board length × exposed width × number of boards. Solid volume = board length × actual width × actual thickness × number of boards. Use consistent units. One board foot is 1/12 cubic foot.
Before you buy
For rectangular, uniform boards. Tongue-and-groove boards may have an exposed width smaller than their full width. The volume estimate uses the full rectangular cross section and excludes stacking gaps. Board feet here use actual dimensions, not a supplier-specific nominal tally.
